As a community owner, it is important to segregate the group member across categories so that you can

  • Target the active members for making them your advocates
  • Engage with the passive ones to make them active
  • Awake the dormant members increased engagement

So what exactly are these categories?

  • Active and engaged- People who are reading every message and replying or posting their doubts and queries
  • Passively engaged- Someone who is reading 90% of the messages and seldom reacting or commenting
  • Dormant- Someone who is reading less than 40% of the messages

What if you target them in categories though?

  • You would be able to sell them your product
  • You could make them advocates of your community and product
  • You can increase the interactions in your community
  • You can create a pull to your community
  • You would be able to create a word of mouth for your community
