Warmed 50 new connections in 5 Minutes on WhatsApp

I always faced difficulties with warming my new connections on Whatsapp. It always eats up 30–40 minutes for 20 new contacts who I met recently.

I remember attending an event where I had a great time meeting potential investors, partners, and prospects.

The trouble began when the event ended.

I ended the evening happily, with around 20 new contacts on my WhatsApp.

However, when I tried to contact them later for work, I was lost. I couldn’t find them or send regular messages to keep in touch.

I had to save their numbers in my phone and maintain a separate Excel sheet with their status and tags such as:-

“Potential customer”, “Potential Referrer”, “Contacted” etc.

After I finally messaged them, there were additional challenges.

  1. I had to update my existing connections list on WhatsApp to ensure I followed up with new connections.
  2. I also had to update an Excel sheet to avoid reintroducing myself.

This led me to Whatlist.io, a personalized broadcasting and intelligent networking platform that helped me scale my WhatsApp conversations.

After the next event, sending introduction messages, tracking, and updating follow-up lists took only 10 minutes. Here’s what I did:

Step 1: I added custom tags for each contact to track their status, eliminating the need for an Excel sheet.

Step 2: I created a new list called ‘New Connections — Delhi Event’.

Step 3: I added the new connections to a list with just a click.

Step 4: I scheduled a personalized message to all new connections from the event within 30 seconds.

I also experimented with other hacks:

  • I created a list of groups to send the same message to multiple groups, helping me build connections with active members.
  • I identified founders I hadn’t interacted with in 30 or 60 days and sent them a warm message, gaining one customer from this hack.
  • I marked some leads as favorites to get reminders to reply in mutual groups whenever they sent a message.

WhatsApp can be daunting for business conversations, but with Whatlist.io, I was able to implement hacks for lead warming and nurturing
