How to find business opportunities on WhatsApp — A Guide
Earlier in my career, I realized the potential of WhatsApp groups for uncovering business opportunities. For my last startup, I found all 40 of my customers through WhatsApp groups.
It wasn’t easy, but the effort paid off immensely. Here’s my story and how you can do it too.
Engaging with Founders in WhatsApp Groups
Back then, I dedicated two hours every day to actively participating in WhatsApp groups.
These groups were filled with other founders and professionals who shared valuable insights and opportunities.
I made it a point to join discussions, share my thoughts, and ask questions. By consistently showing up and adding value, I built a reputation as a knowledgeable and engaged member.
One day, I joined a discussion about marketing strategies. By sharing my experience and offering a unique perspective, I caught the attention of a fellow founder. We moved our conversation to a private chat, and that interaction eventually turned into a business deal.
Keeping Track of Group Discussions
Another crucial aspect was keeping track of discussions related to my business.
I would scroll through the messages, making notes of key topics and potential leads. This required a lot of time and attention, but it was necessary to stay informed and spot opportunities.
In one group, there was a heated debate about the best ways to hire trained sales folks. I noticed that many members were dissatisfied with their current solutions. Sensing an opportunity, I jumped in and shared how my startup could solve their problems. This led to several members reaching out to me privately, and eventually, some became customers.
Connecting 1:1 with Active Members
Identifying and connecting with active members of the group was another strategy I used.
These were the people who regularly contributed to discussions and seemed genuinely interested in the topics. By reaching out to them directly, I could build stronger connections and explore potential collaborations.
I remember noticing a member who frequently posted about challenges in scaling their business. I reached out with some advice and resources. Our conversation grew, and we eventually met in person to discuss further. That connection not only turned into a customer but also a valuable business partner.
Despite my success, the process was time-consuming and exhausting.
That’s when I decided to build Whatlist. This tool transformed how I approached WhatsApp groups and made my efforts much more efficient.
With Whatlist, I no longer need to spend hours each day. The tool allowed me to schedule messages in advance, ensuring I remained active in group discussions without constant monitoring. This freed up my time to focus on other important tasks.
→ Whatlist’s advanced scheduling feature keeps me engaged in group discussions even when I was busy with other things.
→ AI-powered listening capability. Now Whatlist would monitor group conversations and alert me to keywords and discussions related to my business.
→ Whatlist also suggests personal replies based on my past conversations and the activities of other group members. This made my interactions more meaningful and relevant, increasing the chances of turning them into business opportunities.
Conclusion
Thanks to Whatlist, what used to take me two hours each day now takes just five minutes. The tool has streamlined my process, making it easier to engage with groups, listen to relevant conversations, and connect with active members.
If you’re looking to uncover business opportunities on WhatsApp and increase your outcomes from Whatsapp Groups, I highly recommend giving Whatlist a try.
